The role is to design PCB layout for new and existing control and protection platforms. This individual shall be able to create PCB layout incorporating both analogue and digital circuitry and taking into account EMC, manufacturing and tests constraints. The candidate will have a good English level and will be able to work in collaborative way with international colleagues. The main activities are:
- Design multilayer PCB including placement of parts and routing of traces
- Manage parts library for schematic and PCB
- Setup design rules, class rules, high-speed rules
- Contribute to process optimization and productivity enhancements with international colleagues
Requirements
- Experience and knowledge in the following areas of PCB layout
- Digital/microprocessor
- Analogue
- Power supply
- Knowledge of Mentor tools is mandatory (PADS logic, layout, router)
- Experience using through-hole and SMT, fine pitch parts and ball grid array packages
- Ability to set up layer stack-up, select material, select surface finish and copper weight
- Ability to deliver optimized and cost effective PCB layouts
- Application of relevant EMC, RoHS and product safety legislation and an understanding of outside body approval requirements LVD, UL, CSA etc.
- Understanding of design for manufacture and design for test philosophies
- Familiar with latest board manufacturing process
- 3+ years experience in middle-high voltage PCB layout design
- Technical/Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience
