PADS2005 SPac2 Release Highlights
Introduction
As the third major release for 2005, PADS2005 SPac2 continues to
demonstrate Mentor Graphics ongoing commitment to this product line
with GUI standardization across the PADS tools including a new Project
Explorer for PADS Logic and PADS Layout, and further usability and
intra-tool integration. Other enhancements include functions formerly
known as the Analog Toolkit option, as standard for every PADS Layout
configuration. A newly integrated OrCAD schematic and library import
function has been added to PADS Logic. In addition, this release
introduces the new Mentor Stardard Installer (MSI) which includes all
products found in the PADS Flow.
As with all releases, it also includes a significant number of defect
fixes, see the Release Notes on the web.

1- Use the makelic facility under KeyGen folder to make a working
license for your machine. Save it to a known place.
2- Install the programs by inserting the CD or running Setup.
3- When asked, point to the generated license.txt in item 1.
4- Select what you want to intall.

NB.: PADS2005 SPac2 has been fully tested on Windows XP service
pack 2. When Windows XP service pack 2 is installed on a license
server, PADS end users may not be able to check out floating
licenses from the license server. This happens because the
Windows Firewall (Internet Connection Firewall or ICF) is turned
on by default. You must disable the firewall or setup the
lmgrd.exe and mgcld.exe as exception processes, for floating
licensing to work correctly. |
